The DC Food Project is a Washington, D.C. non-profit organization providing students access to nutritious food in school and throughout the weekend, while helping to reduce food waste in local schools. Our organization will fill gaps between D.C. schools' free breakfast and free and reduced lunch programs and make it more accessible for these students to receive healthy food when the school week ends.
"There are hungry kids in every community and schools are the best places to access those children. Federal free breakfast and lunch programs can help during the school day, but what happens outside of the school day and school week can have an impact on what happens in the classroom. "
