Do you need help finding a summer meal site for youth 18 and younger?

This summer, youth 18 and younger have access to no-cost meals at over 100 sites across the city. No application or ID required.
Use the USDA summer meal site finder to locate a meal site in the D.C. area:

  • Visit www.fns.usda.gov/meals4kids

  • View information here and scan the QR code

  • For families in Wards 4-8 you can check out these QR codes for direct assistance in your area.

DC Public School (DCPS) Meal Sites:

FREE breakfast and lunch will be available to all children and youth 18 and younger across the city all summer long! While DCPS is no longer able to offer meals to-go, students are welcome to stop by DCPS summer school sites where they can be served a meal to consume on-site.

DCPS summer meal locations, hours, and menus can be found a the link below. Please note that meal locations and hours are subject to change. 

  • Access DCSP’s summer meal sites at over 50+ locations throughout the city -

  • Breakfast will be served 8am-10am. Lunch will be served 11am-1pm

DC Parks & Recreation (DPR) Meal Sites:

DPR provides meals for DC children 18 years and under at select recreation centers throughout the District. No ID or application is needed. Summer 2024 meal service will begin Tuesday, June 18.

DC Central Kitchen meals don’t stop just because school’s out for summer

Click HERE to see the schools providing free breakfast and lunch to students under 18. All meals will need to be consumed on site.

Martha’s Table Joyful Food Market will host weekly, no-cost markets 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Tuesday - Friday from June 24th - August 16th. For more information, locations, dates- click here.


Adults and Seniors:

If you are over 18, you can also visit our Food Access Page which lists out meal sites by Ward.

  • Sunbucks Program-
    Beginning in summer 2024, families could receive $120 per eligible student. These benefits work together with other nutrition assistance programs, such as summer meal sites, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) to support students with consistent access to nutritious meals when school is out.   • Department of Aging and Community Living (DACL) - Community Dining Sites
    DACL has over 40 community dining sites across all eight wards of Washington, DC. Find a community dining, transportation assistance, nutrition information, and more by visiting here.

  • Office of the People’s Counsel-
    Do you need assistance with your utilities? If so, check out the Office of the People’s Counsel for more information on help with electric, natural gas, water, landline phones and more by clicking here.

  • Mary’s Center-
    If you need assistance with healthcare, medicaid, etc clicking here.

Seeking other food assistance:

The USDA National Hunger Hotline remains a helpful resource for people seeking food assistance. The hotline, operated by Hunger Free America, can be reached Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET. at 1-866-3-HUNGRY (1-866-348-6479) or 1-877-8-HAMBRE (1-877-842-6273) (for Spanish).
