At DC Food Project, our work begins and ends with our school partners. Collaborating with schools across Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, and beyond ensures that our programs are deeply rooted in the communities we serve. Because of these relationships, we are able to truly understand each school's unique needs, choose the exact programs that will help them thrive, and measure our ongoing impact.
While our expertise is in providing food relief to families at high risk, it’s the incredible school staff who make it all possible. From principals and social service teams to teachers, cafeteria workers, and custodians, the deep care these educators have for their communities is unmatched. Our programs do more than stock pantries and rescue food in school cafeterias; they open doors for us to reach out, check in, and show our communities that together, we can bridge the gap.
