Pantry + Program
The Pantry+ Program, in partnership with DC Central Kitchen, aims to fill the need during school breaks. By utilizing our relationships with schools, our team of volunteers deliver non-perishable food items, hot meals and more to our community who are among the most vulnerable groups affected by inadequate access to food.
Did You Know?
About the Pantry+ Program
The Pantry+ Program is designed to fill the gaps in food access that occur during school breaks. Leveraging our strong relationships with schools, we deliver non-perishable foods, hot meals, and other essential items to students and families who are most vulnerable to food insecurity. By providing consistent, reliable support when school meals are unavailable, Pantry+ ensures that children and their families have the nutrition they need to stay healthy and focused, no matter the time of year.
The Pantry+ Program runs 5x/year prior to major holidays to ensure children and their families have what they need when school-based meals are not available to them
Over 200+ volunteers have supported this program, delivering 15,000+ lbs of much-needed food to our partner schools per distribution
DCFP has provided more than 4 million meals to families throughout Washington DC since 2020 - on track to 5 million!
