Pantry + Program
The Pantry+ Program, in partnership with DC Central Kitchen, aims to bridge the gap in food security during school breaks, holidays and long weekends. By leveraging our close relationships with schools, our dedicated volunteer team delivers non-perishable groceries, hot meals, and essential resources directly to students and families facing the highest barriers to consistent food access.
Did You Know?
About the Pantry+ Program
The Pantry+ Program bridges critical gaps in food access during school breaks. By leveraging strong relationships with local schools, we deliver non-perishable goods, hot meals, and daily essentials to families most vulnerable to food insecurity when school meals are paused.
Operating five times a year ahead of major holidays, Pantry+ provides the consistent, reliable nutrition children need to stay healthy and focused year-round. Supported by over 200 dedicated volunteers, each distribution delivers more than 15,000 pounds of food to our partner schools. This vital initiative is part of DCFP’s broader mission, which has delivered over 5 million meals to Washington D.C. families since 2020.
