$10,000 for 100,000 Meals

Dearest friends and families –

As we enter into this season of thanks and reflection, we at DC Food Project want to reach out to you to convey our deepest gratitude for your past and ongoing support.

Today, we are excited to announce that our friends at DC Central Kitchen and their community of supporters will instantly match your contribution with a $10,000 challenge — $10,000 for 100,000 meals.

Consider making a donation now!

We have come so far from our first days of implementing elementary school share tables and single school weekend bag program.  As schools closed during the pandemic, we were able to scale operations to support a much broader base with our Emergency Weekend Bag program, providing over one million meals to families in need.  This program continues this school year with distributions scheduled prior to long breaks to thousands of families across Washington, DC.  We are also very proud to announce our newest platform – the DCFP Pantry Program.  At 10 schools in the district (and growing!), we have stocked pantries from which thousands of students can access necessities that include food and personal products.

None of this would have been possible without all of YOU, our supporters and partners.  You have allowed us to grow our programs through your financial donations and program advice input and countless volunteer hours.  From the bottom of our hearts – THANK YOU!

We are energized to continue these efforts into the coming year and focused on making the holiday season one of hope for our communities.

In gratitude,

Alysa, Katie, Krista and Lucie
